A statement of what a company owns (assets) and how it is financed (liabilities and equity) on a given date.
Assets include property, equipment, intangibles, inventory, receivables and cash. They’re financed by liabilities – debt and other obligations – and shareholders' equity. Both sides always balance. Key measures include the equity ratio, net debt and the current ratio.
