Why this site exists#

Money and markets get talked about a lot, but rarely explained well. Much of what’s online is really trying to sell something: a brokerage account, a course, a signal service, the next hot stock. We believe good financial education should look different – patient, honest about risk and free of sales interests.

That’s why Butterfly Market Insider is a stock market school: a structured learning path in eight modules with practice after every lesson, spaced review, flashcards and a daily quiz, a glossary of more than 200 terms and interactive calculators that let you explore the relationships yourself. Alongside it runs a lean news section showing what’s happening in markets right now – with explanations of the terms that appear in the headlines.

Our principles#

• Free and open. No sign-up, no subscription, no paywall.
• No ads, no tracking. We embed no advertising or analytics services. An account is optional; without logging in we set no cookies.
• No investment advice. We explain tools and relationships, but we won’t tell you what to buy.
• Honest about limits. Where research is divided or methods such as technical analysis are disputed, we say so.
• Clear, but not shallow. Every lesson starts from zero and goes as far as the topic requires.
