Time-weighted return

German: Zeitgewichtete Rendite

A return calculation that removes the effect of contributions and withdrawals and so measures the fund manager’s performance.

The returns of individual sub-periods are multiplied together. Fund companies publish this return. What an individual investor actually earned is shown instead by the money-weighted return.
