Tax Treatment
Austria: Interest is subject to capital gains tax (KESt) of 27.5%. The broker automatically remits the tax to the tax authority.
Germany: Interest is taxed at the flat rate of 25% + 5.5% solidarity surcharge = 26.375%. Up to the saver's allowance (€1,000 / €2,000 for married couples) is tax-free.
